Home >> WLC Response to Hurricane Katrina >> Team 10

As our 200th + team member hits the road, these generous servants of the Lord have logged a combined 500,000 road miles and donated more than three years full-time equivalent (6,400 hours) of service to the residents of Ocean Springs. To God be the glory for the response to this ministry!

Team 10 leaves in staggered starts Friday and Saturday, with Mike Hunst and Stan Bomsta leading the group. Wives Vicki and Gloria will serve as spiritual directors. Please keep Stan and Gloria in your prayers as they first attend the funeral of Stan's brother-in-law on Saturday.

The team includes JoAnne Schaffer, LeAnn Radel, Ron Linden, Jean Luebker, Allison Vercauteren, Emily Grahavac, Luke Ruland, Donna Schiltz, Sandi Lindstrom, Theresa Ingram, Melissa Cornwell, Emily Lott, Nancy Burns, John Strharsky, David Urbaniak, Sam Keul and Gary Gibson. Also on the team are servants from First Presbyterian in Stillwater -- Russ Cummings, Ray and Betty Roemmich, Louis and Carol Winslow, Todd Williams, Steve Spark and Bill White. The team will be joined on the road by Rod Lowther from St. Andrew, our host church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Connie and Lindsey Butorac from Trinity, our host church in Bloomington, Illinois.

Also traveling to Ocean Springs to work at the Methodist camp next week are two student groups with WLC connections. These 60 students are led by WLC member Cortney Kenow Heerwald serving in mission at the University of Minnesota Duluth Chi Alpha and Team 5 member Rebecca Lehmer (read her blog here) leading a group from the University of Minnesota sponsored by Christian Student Fellowship (and brilliantly trained by WLC member Bob Holland on dry wall installation). Blessings on their travel and their work week, as well.

Whew! It'll promises to be quite a week in Ocean Springs as Christ army's from the cold north marches into the South!

See the team blog for more information.
