Children's
Ministries will continue to use the “peanut butter
jar” offering this year. We were really pleased last year that
the kids seemed to have so much fun, “ownership” and enthusiasm
in earning money and learning how to give a portion of their earnings to
the Lord.
For those of you who are new…we don't collect a regular offering each Sunday. Instead, we give each child a peanut butter jar where they can collect a portion of any allowance they earn or earnings for special chores they complete around the house. This helps them to gain an understanding of tithing to the Lord. On the last Sunday of each month, your child should bring their jar to their Large Group time. The monies collected are sent to Compassion International to support two children we have adopted.
Parents, please reuse the peanut butter jar from last year or simply save any plastic jar from home as it becomes empty. Your child can decorate this jar any way they wish or we do have some labels available from last year that you can use. Stop by the KidZone booth in the hallway and pick up a label.
It is our prayer that the kids grow in their knowledge or giving to and serving others.
