Parenting 102: Frequently Asked Questions - Facilitated by Jane Dibbern - Begins March 11

This class will take a look at some frequently asked questions that parents have about raising their children.  Using scripture and some humorous film clips from ABC’s  “THE MIDDLE”, we’ll discuss strategies for answering these questions.  Class begins, Sunday, March 11, 9:30 a.m. in the Family Center.  Come be encouraged, laugh at bit and learn. 

  1. WORSHIP:  Should I force my kid to come to church?  How do we honor the Sabbath Day as a family?
  2. WORDS:  How do I handle a child who lies? How do I handle a child that is disrespectful with their language and attitude ? 
  3. WHAT A KID NEEDS:  How do we figure out what our kids really need? 
  4. COMMUNICATION:  How do I get my kid to talk to me?
  5. SUCCESS:  How can I help my kid be successful?
  6. CONFLICT:  Why do we always end up fighting about something every day?
  7. LISTENING:  Why do I always have to repeat everything to my child over and over and over?
  8. PARENTING DISCORD:  How can my spouse and I get on the same page about how to parent and discipline?

Have you ever wondered why Genesis 1 & 2 have two different creation accounts?  Have you every asked how the biblical creation story relates to other ancient creation stories? Maybe you lie awake and night wondering how old the earth is?  Or possibly, you think the first few chapters of Genesis are interesting. This class is for those in their 20s and 30s - their quarter life.  Bible study to be announced soon.
