Podcasting! It's brand new, it's revolutionary, it's free, and anyone can use it. Here's how it works.
Each week’s sermons (both in the Sanctuary and Genesis) and Sanctuary Bible Study are recorded and converted to a digital format that can be played on your computer. Until now, the only method of listening to those sermons was by downloading them from our web site or purchasing a tape. Podcast sermons are not only free, but will automate the process for you as well! You don't have to own an iPod to enjoy a podcast. All you have to do is subscribe to a Woodbury Lutheran podcast and every week the latest sermons and Bible study will be automatically downloaded to your computer.
How to get started
We recommend using Apple's iTunes program, which is available for both Windows and Mac. iTunes is available free by downloading it from www.itunes.com. There are versions for both Windows and Mac computers.
Step 1: Download iTunes and install it on your computer.
Step 2: Open iTunes. When you installed it on a Windows PC it creates a new icon on your desktop, but if you can't find it click your Start button > All Programs > iTunes. It should be there.
Step 3: Open the Advanced dropdown menu on top.
Step 4: Click "Subscribe to Podcast…" and a small window will open.
Step 5: Decide which podcast you want. You can choose as many as you want:
- For Sanctuary sermons, type "http://www.woodburylutheran.org/media/sanctuary.xml" and click OK.
- For Genesis sermons, type "http://www.woodburylutheran.org/media/genesis.xml" and click OK.
- For Sanctuary Bible Study, type "http://www.woodburylutheran.org/media/biblestudy.xml" and click OK.
You should now see your selection in the Podcasts section of iTunes with the available sermons underneath. When a new sermon is released, iTunes can download it automatically.
