We are excited to offer parents another option for their children who have completed a four year old program, but need an extra year to develop physically, socially, emotionally, or academically prior to entering kindergarten. Introducing High Fives!, a transitional kindergarten program for children with late spring and summer birthdays, whose parents feel are not ready for a traditional kindergarten class.

High Fives! transitional kindergarten will serve as a bridge for children who need the gift of time – time essential to absorb and express ideas and concepts, to learn more about social skills and friendships, to develop independence and examine the world around them. This will allow young five year olds the added time needed to develop the confidence and maturity necessary for success in kindergarten.

High Fives! learning and kindergarten readiness goals will challenge young learners at a higher developmental level than our classes for four year olds and complement but not duplicate our kindergarten classes. High Fives! will meet on Monday through Thursday each week from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

In order to enroll in the High Fives! transitional kindergarten class, a child must turn five in late spring through September 1st, 2006. Children who just miss the Sept. 1st cut-off date (within one week) will be considered for enrollment upon the approval of our teaching staff.
