Greet and welcome participants with disabilities and their caregivers as they arrive.
Assist participants as needed to find a table; hang up their coats; write out their name tag.
Visit with participants and their caregivers throughout the event. Build relationships. Be a friend and share the love of Jesus through friendship with participants and their caregivers.
You are not expected to do any lifting or personal cares. You are simply there to be a friend and assist participants as needed so that they can participate in the activities and have a good time.
If you can help with set up and clean up or serving food that is always appreciated. If you have a talent (musical entertainment or craft or sport) that you think our participants would enjoy, please let us know.
REQUIREMENT: A background check is required for all servants in disability ministries.
TIME/FREQUENCY OF SERVICE: Hearts and Hands meets the 2nd Sunday of the month from September to April. Most months we meet at the Valley Creek Campus 12:30pm-2:00pm. Twice a year we meet at the Oak Hill Campus 3:30pm-5:00pm. We welcome your assistance any time you can make it, however the more often you come the easier it will be for you to get to know our participants and share the love of Jesus with them.
