Prayers for Bruce's dad Dale, who is having heart surgery this morning in Prescott, Arizona. Yesterday they put in a filter to guard against pulmonary clots (which has been an issue for him in recent years) and today he will have bypass surgery. Our hope was that they could just replace a stent that was installed in 2005, but the surgery will be more complicated than that.

Another update has come in on Cameron... Please see his Caring Bridge site for the latest information to be praying for, including some vision problems overnight into this morning.

Plea for healing. MT 14: 36, "They begged Him to let the sick at least touch the edge of His cloak; and all who touched it were made well."

God gives peace. IS 26: 3, "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, whose thoughts are fixed on You. Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the Eternal Rock."

Leah Ortiz

As many of you know, an appeal was made to the Israeli Ministry of Defense to reverse the denial of insurance coverage for Ami Ortiz, Leah's son who was so badly injured in the Purim Box Bombing back in Mar.'08. This denial has been reversed, thanks be to God.

Ami has had laser surgery on his many scars from the injuries he received-done by a doctor who developed these procedures for soldiers burned and scarred in bombings. It was done in Miami, FL, where Leah's mother (age 90) and her brother live. Her sister came from upstate NY to FL to help with cooking. Ami then got to return to Israel for a short visit and is now back in the States.

Two other developments which evoke a need for prayer have happened. 1) David Ortiz (Ami's dad) had laproscopic surgery to remove his gall bladder after having trouble with gall stone formation, and on June 6th will have another surgery to remove a pre-cancerous polyp from his colon. 2) The now-incarcerated perpetrator of the Purim Box Bombing, Jack Teitel, is trying to have his life sentence overturned in an appeal to the Israeli courts.

Please pray for the following: for the healing hand of the Holy Spirit to be on both Ami and David, for wisdom for their surgeons and care teams, for totally successful surgery for David on June 6th, for no cancer to exist in his body now or in the future, for Jack Teitel's sentence to stand-that he takes responsibility for his crimes, for peace of mind for Leah, David, Ami, and the rest of the family, and for peace.

Also, please offer praise and thanks to God for Ami's healing, for allowing the Israeli Ministry of Defense to make insurance coverage available to Ami, his hope to be feeling better in the future, and for the way the family cooperated with each other in his care.

Plea for healing. PS 6: 4, "Come, O Lord, and make me well. In Your kindness save me."

God's justice. 2 THESS 1: 6-7, "God is just; He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you, and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with His powerful angels."

Please pray for the John Griep family. John passed away this morning with his family at his side. John was Juanita Hensel's father. We will all miss John very much, but rejoice that his pain is gone and he is in heaven with our Heavenly Father.

Cam continues to be doing better. His echocardiogram looks good and he is resting comfortably. He is still on the ventilator, but his doctors are slowly weaning him from it by lowering the settings. The plan is still to close his sternum on Tues, and to extubate him on Wed. Cam is running a low grade fever, but that is being carefully monitored along with alterations in his antibiotics. Rob and Kari are grateful for continuing prayers and for outside maintenance help at home from neighbors. Please keep prayers coming.

Plea for healing. JER 17: 14, "Lord, heal me and I will be completely well; rescue me and I will be perfectly safe. You are the One I praise."

Kevin B.

Greetings from Canada,

I am asking for prayer for two main areas in my life that are seemingly insurmountable to me, in terms of duration of struggle. I've been lonely for a long time, due to choices that YES I've made. Not going to church, and frankly the Evangelical Church has in many ways messed up my life in terms of legalism, enabling to be dependent in all the wrong ways and manipulation. I know I must forgive the church, and to you though you are a Body of Believers far away, I ask for your forgiveness, "When one part hurts the whole body hurts."

As well I am 52 yrs old and would really like to connect with some folk my own age. Most of my life, I've hung out with seniors, ladies who end being "Surrogate Moms" I don't need that anymore.

Blessings to you all.

Cameron is doing better than before. His kidneys are slowly beginning to function better, and it is hoped that his sterum can be closed next Tues. Trials are being run to see if his ventilator settings can be turned down, with the hope for extubation next Wed. Wound healing over the next 4-6 weeks will be carefully monitored. The plan is to wean Cameron off Peritoneal Dialysis gradually. Yesterday, the doctors began feeding Cam through a tube. They are pleased with Cameron's progress at this point.

Please offer praise and thanks to God for making this heart transplant possible, for the forward progress Cameron is making, and for the hope of a long, happy, and healthy life for him. Also, please pray for Cam's doctors to conquer his infection, for healing, and for comfort for the donor family.

Praise and thanks to God. PS 63: 3-4, "Your constant love is better than life itself, and so I will praise You. I will give You thanks as long as I live; I will raise my hands to You in prayer."
