I am praying that the 15 year old who posts prayer requests here will know that many people are praying for her. Every person has to learn that God grows us, matures us, through our trials. We pray that this 15 year old girl will know that when someone is especially put through many trials, it's often because God is preparing this person for something very special, very important. Please pray that this 15 year old places confidence in God, Who has much love for her, and that she knows she is loved by her human brothers and sisters in Christ too.

Steve Cohen

Steve is the president and founder of Apple of His Eye Mission Society in St. Louis, MO. His oldest son, Micha Cohen and Mischa's wife, Leah Cohen have posted these requests and given Steve permission to share them with us. Micha's mother, Jan Cohen died back in 2007 after a 17 year battle with Huntington's Chorea, a genetic disease which causes gradual deterioration of the nervous system. This disease is characterize by muscle control, cognitive, and behavioral problems. Symptoms don't show up until mid-life.

Now, Micha is beginning to show symptoms like Jan had at the beginning of her battle with this disease. Micha works for Jews for Jesus, has a wife, Leah, and two daughters. Micha and Leah ask for these requests: for wisdom in talking to his children about this illness for Micha, for humility in asking for the Lord's help when he needs it, for God to draw his brothers, Noah and Seth, to faith in the Lord Yeshua, for Micha to endure well, and for wisdom for the entire family.

RO 8: 28 (Micha's choice), "And we know that in all things god works for the good of those who love HIm, who have been called according to His purpose."

JAS 1: 2-3, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."

At the present time a new Board of Directors has been called for Apple of His Eye Mission Society beginning this month. They are Ron Davis, Rev. Ivan Petterson, Rev. Bob Roegner, Rev. Allan Schade, and Rev. Scott Snow. AOHE is an LCMS-connected outreach to traditional Jews and others. Steve Cohen is its founder and president. Please pray for God's work to continue to be accomplished by this fine organization.

RO 1: 16, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, first the Jew, then for the Gentile."

Hey guys, it's me, the 15 year old girl again...thanks to all of your guys prayers my life was pretty great for awhile:) but lately...it has gotten back to the way it was, almost every night I have been crying myself to sleep because I need to act strong during the day so everyone thinks that everything is ok... I don't understand why God has put me on this path...everyone says that He has a path for you, I guess the path he has chosen for me is for me to struggle my entire life...I have been asking him and been going to church and been trying to stop acting happier but actually be happier...but nothing's helping....I don't know how to exactly try to tell myself in the morning, during the day, and at night, that it will get better...I hope God has someone help me...thank you again everyone for being there for me..

Unfortunately they denied the visa for [my husband,] Damianis' mother. I don't have all the details, because he was too sad to talk.He mentioned something about him not being a citizen and that he has to wait until he is a citizen. Well Damianis knows many friends who have been able to get travel visas for family when they didn't have their citizenship yet. Please continue to pray for the situation. We will continue to find a way that the two can get together.

My husband, Damianis, is from Cuba. He cannot return to Cuba, because he is considered a "traitor" because he fled Cuba in a boat. However, his mother has an interview tomorrow, Wednesday, at the US Embassy in Cuba to see if she can travel to the U.S. to see her 2 children. She has two sons and they are both in the U.S. Please pray that her travel visa will be granted.
