Fun Family Serventure Event:  Bike-a-thon & Obstacle course raising funds for the Christian Cupboard & Valley Outreach as well as a chance to decorate and fill snack bags for the Ronald McDonald House.
Saturday, August 15th, 9:30-11am.
Invite your neighbors to sponsor you as you complete 1-5 laps (a short course that is .1 mile per lap and a longer course that is .3 mile per lap) around the Valley Creek parking lot on your bike (or scooter) and then complete the socially distant obstacle course.  Families are welcome to create team shirts, decorate their bikes, and complete the course together!  There will also be paper bags to decorate and fill with snacks for the Ronald McDonald House.  All donated funds will go to Valley Outreach or the Christian Cupboard.
**you can also complete the Fun Family Serventure Event in your neighborhood if you'd like. We'll send you the details and you can complete it wherever you are!

What is a SERVENTURE?: A serventure is an intentional serving experience that challenges us to grow as Disciples, build relationships, and put our faith into action. There are a wide variety of serving opportunities available: projects you can do from home, things you can do with your neighbors, things that require special skills, projects that work well for families with children, and great opportunities to connect with amazing ministries around our community.

Why: We want to be growing to be more and more like Jesus. We want to follow His model of seeking to serve and build relationships. Everyone can use a helping hand sometimes.

Who can register to serve: Households, families, small groups, neighbors, friends. Folks of all ages!

When & What: You get to choose! There are two Serventure tracks: You can Choose your own SERVENTURE and work as a family or group to find a date that works well for you to set aside a few hours to serve.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN SERVENTURE

OR you can Choose one of these pre-planned SERVENTURES that we've found all around our area with organizations that WLC is connected with. There will be specific opportunities spread out over Aug 13-15.

PRE-PLANNED SERVENTURE INFO

You can register for as many serving opportunities as you & your chosen crew want.

Devotional Materials: Preparing our hearts to serve with kind and loving attitudes is an important part of the Serventure process. Jesus never served others begrudgingly! He said Himself, "(I) came not to be served, but to serve...." These materials include a devotion to do before you serve, while you’re serving (with those you’re serving alongside!) and after you serve.

SERVENTURE GUIDE: DEVOTIONAL MATERIALS

Covid 19 details: We will be seeking to follow state guidelines related to social distancing, cleaning, and thoughtfulness for our neighbors. You may be asked to wear a mask while serving if you'll be in close proximity with others.
