Homesick

As we continue to sludge our way through 2020 and all the challenges that have come, there is a sense that everything would be better if we could just go back to how things were. As the Israelites left Egypt and wandered in the wilderness they felt this same tug to go back. Years later as they were exiled into Babylon they again yearned for what was comfortable. As disciples living in a world where we are aliens and strangers we have a desire to escape this world for eternity. In a word we are HOMESICK. If we are not careful being homesick can cause us to miss out on what God is doing right now, to romanticize what has been and leave stuck in the past instead of looking forward.
