Passage: Genesis 15:1-20
In the Old Testament, God makes several covenants with his people. In each, He binds himself to them in a significant way. In Genesis 12, God made a promise to Abram (later Abraham), that he would become a great nation, and that his offspring would bless all people. Now in a dramatic scene in Genesis 15, God seals the covenant with blood. In an equally dramatic scene on the night when he was betrayed, Jesus makes a new covenant between God and man and seals it with His blood.
